What is the best diesel engine ever made for a car or light truck?
I heard of Mercedes-Benz do what has been nick named "the Motor million miles "and was curious to learn some people have been other times, on what the best diesel engine.'m very intrested in gas milage, maintenance costs and reliability. I'm not interested in motor-type seeds, Thank You and Easter.
I worked my way through college / school engineering as a Mercedes – Porsche – Audi mechanic on the east coast. We had a customer with a 240 diesel which had over 230,000 miles on it. He worked for NASA and was allowed to fly in Florida, because the plane might get hijacked to Cuba So this car made 4-6 trips to Florida every year …. The engine was flak, but we ate a water pump every 45,000 miles like clockwork and we could never understand …… D's other 240 did not have this problem at all. A of my friends had in 14 years, 300 D and was fine. His other boy (the son of man) was not …. The Dodge / / Cummins diesel engine is often amended by the owners to be more like the backhoe engine with regard to oil filters, air filters, little stuff. It's a straight 6. The D 240 is in line 4 and the 300 D is a beginning in line 5. I'd like to see the details of a diesel V-6, but I'm not aware of those that are self / / size pickup truck ………
