What are good ways to clean wicker furniture?

Just got some junk. Want to clean it before you paint it. It is not in bad condition and only time worn.

Before you paint, wicker, it is important to remove any loose material such as dirt. Start brushing vigorously with a stiff brush. This will remove any small strands that are loose. If more pieces of rattan are loose paste with glue instead of wood and tie or crack for 24 hours. After brushing, a good sprinkling with a Garden Hose is usually enough to remove dirt.
